Sleek cold pinkness of lax

reminds me of your touch

so pregnant with smell

dill flowering on your fingers.

I imagine

amongst murky reeds

brown bracken water

caught in its gills.

Now

pale silver skin

its scaly rainbow

separated from pink flesh

This salmon spread out on this plate

Like I

Lifeless

Poised

shored up in my own longing
